Assertiveness is for everyone. It is a skill in much the same way that negotiating, delegating and other identifiable business skills are basically communication skills. It is a skill that enables people to be more confident and to say the right thing at the right time and assertiveness training helps to develop those skills.
Assertiveness increases the chance of success in any human transaction and as such, supervisors, managers, sales executives as well as secretarial staff, accounts staff and all who deal with others, will find this a fascinating and really useful workshop.

Description of Course
This one-day non-residential assertiveness training course starts by identifying the differences between assertive and non-assertive behaviours. Self-assessment tools are used to help delegates identify when and why they find it difficult to behave assertively.
Techniques for counselling yourself are explored to help delegates develop a positive mental attitude (PMA). The elements of two-way assertive communication, including listening and body language, are then discussed.
A range of assertive techniques are described in detail and exercises, case studies, role play, discussions and tutor feedback used to ensure delegates both understand, and can work with, the various techniques taught.
Throughout the assertiveness training course delegate's own situations are used to provide examples of how they can work with assertiveness.
